ABOUT EXTREME JACK O' LANTERNS
All over the world, "extreme" pumpkin carving has transformed the traditional jack-o'-lantern into an art form, with artists creating jaw-dropping, intricately carved masterpieces for Halloween. Each piece begins with an original design, hand-illustrated directly onto the pumpkin, then carefully cut, etched, and shaved at different depths to create incredible detail, dimension, and texture — with dramatic effects when illuminated from within. Now, it's making its Curaçao debut, thanks to Curaçao resident Altin Rizi — an award-winning fine artist, sculptor, master woodcarver and professional pumpkin carver. Here's a glimpse at his process:

Every Jack-o’-Lantern is hand-illustrated and hand-carved by Altin Rizi, an award-winning artist, sculptor... and professional pumpkin carver.
He is a lifelong visual artist and sculptor originally from Albania. He earned a Master’s in Plastic Arts in Paris, France, and his work has been exhibited around the world — from Japan, Italy and Greece to New York City. His extreme Jack-o’-Lanterns have been commissioned for Halloween shows across the U.S. and Canada, and he now brings that expertise to Curaçao.
