Kick off Halloween after dark at Hofi Kalabash with an extraordinary glowing experience Curaçao has never seen before!

Extreme carving of Jack-o’-lanterns has taken North America by storm, transforming traditional pumpkins into incredible works of art. For the first time ever, extreme pumpkin carving is coming to Curaçao through the work of Curaçao resident Altin Rizi, an award-winning fine artist, sculptor, master woodcarver… and professional pumpkin carver whose work has been commissioned across the United States and Canada.

These aren’t ordinary pumpkins. To withstand Curaçao’s heat, Altin works with sculpting foam normally used for stage props, creating pumpkins that look remarkably real but won’t rot or melt. Each piece begins with Altin’s own design, which he hand-illustrates directly onto the surface. Using professional carving and sculpting tools, he then spends hours carefully cutting, etching and shaving at different depths to create intricate detail, dimension, texture and dramatic effects when illuminated. The result is a jaw-dropping work of art that looks incredible by day and takes on a whole new life when illuminated after dark.

For one night only, you can wander among dozens of Altin’s Extreme Pumpkin Carvings glowing after dark. Expect crazy faces, creepy characters, fantastical creatures, and special Curaçao-inspired designs. And make sure to bring your camera because you’re gonna want selfies with these!
